DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, who made the announcement at the Le Grandeur Palm Resort in Senai near here, said the party will field six candidates for the parliamentary seats and 14 candidates in the state seats.
Of these, 11 are new faces, with the youngest being Liow Cai Tung, 27, who will contest against Barisan Nasional (BN) incumbent for Johor Jaya state seat, Tan Cher Puk.
Liow, a graduate in bio-chemistry from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, said she was inspired by her mother, Ng Siam Luang, who is the Johor DAP deputy chairman in the Women's wing.
Ng, 54, who is also Gelang Patah Wanita chief, is the campaign director of the Johor general election electoral.
Liow, the eldest among three siblings, joined the DAP Impian Emas branch in 2009.
The remaining 10 new faces in the state seats are Lim Eng Guan (Bekok), Ee Chin Li (Tangkak), Chua Wee Beng (Bentayan), Tan Hong Pin ( Mengkibol), R. Shanker (Paloh), Chen Kah Eng (Stulang), Cheo Yee How (Pengkalan Rinting), Wong Shu Qi (Senai) and Yeo Tung Siong (Pekan Nenas).
Johor state opposition leader Dr Boo Cheng Hau, who described the line-up as the best one yet, will continue to defend the Skudai state seat where he will meet new BN candidate, Liang Ah Chy.
Tan Chen Choon, the Johor DAP secretary, who contested in Bentayan in 2004, has now been fielded in the Jementah state seat.
Veteran Gan Peck Cheng, who is contesting in her sixth general election, will now contest in the Penggaram state seat where she will meet BN's new face King Ban Siang while Chew Peck Choo has been fielded in Yong Peng.
As for the parliamentary seats, the candidate for Labis has yet to be announced.
Er Teck Hwa will defend his Bakri seat.
A new face will be Mahdzir Ibrahim, who is a national DAP Sosialis Pemuda (DAPSY) committee member.
Others will be Liew Chin Tong and former Serdang member of parliament Teo Nie Ching.
